PRIVACY POLICY STATEMENT

Member/Registrant Information Collection
Submission
The AIAA Los Angeles
Section (hereafter referred to as AIAA) accepts
personal information for members and non-members (collectively
referred to hereafter as the user) of AIAA who
wish to register for events, receive emails pertaining explicitly
to AIAA and AIAA associated distributions, and/or post this information
to the www.aiaa-la.org domain (hereafter referred to as the website).
This personally identifiable user information may include name,
phone/fax number, email address, company name, user's title, and
other related personal information. This information is collected
by unencrypted transmissions over the internet, and is intended
only for transmission to AIAA for the purpose it was submitted.
Use Of Personally Identifiable Information
AIAA will never use
the information provided via the internet for any other purpose(s)
than that directly related to the pupose of the information submission
without providing the user an opportunity to opt-out, or otherwise
prohibit the unrelated use of personal or other information. AIAA
may choose to keep this information on file, and will only contact
the user for reasons pertaining to the purpose(s) for which the
information was submitted to AIAA. Any information provided to
AIAA over the internet will be accesible for use or modification
only by contact from the user or by AIAA.
AIAA does not ensure
that the information provided will never be disclosed in ways
other than those described in this Privacy Policy. AIAA may be
required to disclose personally identifiable information to the
government or by court order in certain circumstances, or other
situations that may arise requiring such disclosure. By submitting
personal information to AIAA, you also authorize AIAA to disclose
any information about you to law enforcement or other government
officials as AIAA, in our sole discretion, believes is necessary
or appropriate.
AIAA may occaisonally send e-mail communications to users regarding information
related to AIAA events, programs and news. These e-mail communications are intended only for users who give AIAA the
permission to do so. To halt any communication from the AIAA, please notify the communications chair member.
Information Transmission and Storage
AIAA does not transmit any information received through the website in an
encrypted manner, although the transmissions are intended to be secure in a manner that is commensurate with the
information that is being transmitted. Consequently, AIAA asks that users do not transmit information such as financial
account numbers or information, personal identification numbers (SSN, TIDN, etc.), or other sensitive personal or
financial information over the internet through the website.
Third Party Payments
AIAA accepts no responsibility
for payments made through online payment services that are intended
for receipt by AIAA for event registration or other fees. Be sure
to read and understand the online Privacy Policy of any online
payment service before you make any payments to AIAA. AIAA further
cannot ensure the security of any online transmission made by
a third party on behalf of AIAA.
